    Ingredients: 

    • 3-4 lbs mixed beef bones (neckbones, short ribs, knuckles, and oxtail)
    • 2 medium carrots, chopped
    • 3 celery stalks, chopped
    • 2 medium onions
    • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
    • 1 bunch of rosemary
    • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
    • 2 T. black peppercorns
    • 1 bay leaf
    • 1 bunch of thyme
    • pepper
    • sea salt

    Directions:

    • Preheat the oven to 400° Fahrenheit.
    • Place the bones in a single layer on a baking sheet or roasting pan. To uniformly coat, generously season with salt and pepper and sprinkle with olive oil.
    • Cook for 30 minutes, then rotate each bone over and cook for another 30 minutes.
    • While the bones are roasting, chop the veggies and combine them with the bones, rosemary, thyme, bay leaf, peppercorns, and apple cider vinegar in a large slow cooker.
    • Completely cover the slow cooker with water and put it on the low setting.
    • Allow simmering for 12 to 24 hours.
    • As required, add water to keep all components submerged.
    • When the broth reaches a dark, rich brown hue, turn off the slow cooker.
    • Throw away the bones, veggies, stalks, and bay leaf, then drain the broth through cheesecloth. Bring the saucepan to room temperature.
    • Once the mixture has reached room temperature, pour it into jars and refrigerate for at least one hour.
    • When ready to serve, remove the condensed fat from the broth’s surface and reheat to the desired temperature. It can be served in a bowl, mug, or cup.

    How to Store Leftover Kettle and Fire Bone Broth:

    Bone broth can be stored for up to 7 days in the fridge. It can be stored in the freezer for up to a year, but for maximum freshness, use it within six months. Keep in mind that liquid expands when frozen, so leave a bit of headspace in the bottle if you plan on freezing it.

    Allow them to cool to room temperature in the refrigerator. After chilling for at least 5 hours in the fridge, they are ready to be put away in the deep freeze.
